Although a water cooler dispenser is a very common item in an office environment, at home is considered more of a luxury item. It is a pity though, because such a dispenser is a very useful thing to have in the house, and this is why.

Drinking from the tap is hardly healthy, everyone knows that. There are actually places around the world where it is practically forbidden to drink tap water. Buying bottled water is the next best choice, but it is quite expensive, to say the least. Buying the big jugs of water that go in the dispenser are perfect for my needs. I drink a lot of water, and the big jugs not only are cheaper in the long run, compared to regular bottled waters, but the water from the jugs also tastes somehow better. They have more minerals in them, from what I understood. I've noticed that since I have a water cooler dispenser at home, I am drinking more water, somehow the water does taste indeed much better.

Also this means that there is always cool water around the house and in the kitchen. Think about the many times you wanted to drink bottled water from the fridge, but as someone forgot to put a new bottle earlier on to have time to cool down, you've just taken a full mouth of luke-warm water. How annoying is that! Having the dispenser around gets rid of this nasty problem. Nothing worse in summer than drinking luke-warm or room temperature water.

When I talked the other day with a friend of mine and I explained him about the water cooler dispenser, he told me that he would never buy one as it is too expensive. But I told him, far from it! Just think about how much you pay for a pack of 6 or 12 1.5l bottles and that sometimes twice of three times a week. Compare that with the big jug of water, in no time the cost evens out and actually you save money in the process! Seriously, since I'm using the cooler dispenser in my home, I already broke even and I'm now saving money. Money which I can use for other goodies, like a good ice cream, or a chocolate or a nice dinner for two with my husband.

So although at first it might seem like owning a luxury in your home, a water cooler dispenser is something that we all need to have at home. We save money and we keep ourselves hydrated in a very easy way.
